The Placenta Story
A symbolic reading of the organ that sustained your baby.
You spent nine months growing together.
What if you could take a moment to really look at the placenta that helped make that possible?
The placenta is usually one of the most extraordinary, and least understood parts of birth.
It nourished your baby.
It exchanged oxygen and nutrients.
It connected two bodies.
It grew alongside your pregnancy.
And then, after birth, it is so often simply discarded.
I see it differently.
Through The Placenta Story, I offer a beautiful, educational and deeply personal way to explore your placenta after birth, looking closely at its anatomy, patterns, textures, shapes and structures, and using these as a starting point for symbolic reflection
What is a Placenta Reading?
A placenta reading is a guided, symbolic exploration of your placenta. Together, we look at the physical features of your placenta and explore the imagery and symbolism they may evoke.

What might your placenta say?
growth • connection • family • pathways • possibility •belonging • individuality • different pieces becoming one whole
I love the placenta because it sits beautifully between the scientific and the symbolic. We’ll look at the actual anatomy together and I’ll explain what we’re seeing. Then we’ll explore the imagery and symbolism that those structures can evoke. I’ll always distinguish between what we can observe and what we choose to explore symbolically. A placenta reading is not a medical examination, pathology assessment, diagnosis or prediction of your baby’s health, personality or future. If I notice something that appears potentially medically significant, I will never attempt to diagnose it from a photograph or symbolic reading. Instead, I’ll recommend discussing it with your midwife, doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional. This isn’t about me telling you what your placenta means - instead, I’ll guide you through what I see and invite you to consider what it might represent in your own story.
